ACPDC Diploma Admission 2026 – Overview

What is ACPDC?

ACPDC stands for Admission Committee for Professional Diploma Courses. It is the official body under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Gujarat that manages admissions to Diploma / Polytechnic courses across the state.

The admission process is governed by the Gujarat Professional Technical Educational Colleges or Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007 (Act No. 2 of 2008), which provides a transparent, merit-based, and fully online admission system.

ACPDC facilitates admissions to:

• Government Polytechnic Institutes
• Grant-in-Aid Institutes
• Unaided / Self-Financed Polytechnic Institutes
• Management Quota seats voluntarily surrendered by Self-Financed Institutes

Every year, lakhs of students apply for ACPDC Diploma Admission in Gujarat after their Class 10th (SSC) examination. The entire process — from registration to seat allotment — is done online through the official portals.

ACPDC 2026 – Types of Diploma Admission

ACPDC manages two categories of diploma admissions:

1. First Year Diploma (FY Diploma) – After SSC

Students who pass Class 10th (SSC) can join a 3-year diploma in engineering or nonengineering streams. The registration for this starts on May 8 2026.

The ACPDC First Year Diploma is an option for SSC students.

2. Second Year Diploma – Certificate to Diploma (CtoD / Lateral Entry)

Students who complete SSC and a 2-year ITI / TEB / IGTR certificate course can join the Second Year of Diploma. This helps them save one year of study.

The registration for CtoD 2026 was from April 17 to April 30 2026.

The ACPDC Second Year Diploma is for students, with a certificate.

ACPDC Diploma Admission 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

For First Year Diploma after passing SSC:

The candidate must have passed Class 10 with Mathematics and Science and English as subjects.

The boards that are accepted are Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, CBSE, ICSE, International School Board, NIOS, Sanskrit Pathshala or something similar.

When it comes to where the candidate’s from

priority is given to candidates from Gujarat.

Students from states can also apply if there are seats left after candidates from Gujarat have been admitted.

As for age

there is no age limit for diploma admission.

However for categories the age can be relaxed according to government rules.

For Second Year Diploma – this is for entry:

The candidate must have passed SSC from a recognized board.

The candidate must have also completed a 2-year ITI or TEB or IGTR certificate course from a recognized institution after passing SSC.

This certificate course must be valid and, from a recognized institution.

Documents Needed for ACPDC Registration 2026

You need to have these documents ready before you fill out the ACPDC Diploma Admission 2026 application form.

The documents are:

• Class 10 marksheet
• School leaving certificate from your school
• If you are doing CtoD you need your ITI or TEB or IGTR marksheet and certificate

To complete your ACPDC Registration 2026 follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the Official ACPDC Portal

Go to https://gujdiploma.admissions.nic.in or https://acpdc.gujarat.gov.in. These are the websites for ACPDC admissions.

Step 2: Click on Registration / Apply Online

On the candidate activity board click on the “Common Registration ACPDC 2026” link. This link will take you to the registration page.

Step 3: Create Your ACPDC Account

To sign up you need to:

• Enter your name exactly as it is on your SSC marksheet. Make sure it is correct.
• Enter a mobile number and email ID. Keep these active during the registration process.
• Create a User ID that you can remember.
• Set a password. Confirm it.
• Enter the security PIN. It is case-sensitive so be careful.
• Click Submit to complete the Sign Up process for ACPDC.

ACPDC 2026 – Merit List, Counselling & Seat Allotment Process

When the registration is over the ACPDC follows a process for giving out seats.

The ACPDC process has a steps.

First the ACPDC makes a list of students based on their marks in the qualifying exam, which’s the SSC or ITI or TEB exam.

The ACPDC does not have an entrance exam for diploma admissions.

Here is how the ACPDC process works:

• Step 1 is making the merit list.

The ACPDC makes a list of students who have registered for the diploma courses.

This list is based on the marks the students got in their qualifying exam.

• Step 2 is filling in the college and course preferences.

After the merit list is out the students fill in their preferences for colleges and courses online.

They have to put the colleges and courses in order of which ones they like

• Step 3 is the mock round result.

The ACPDC then shows the students which college and course they might get based on their preferences.

This is not the result it is just to help the students see where they might get in and change their preferences if they want to.

• Step 4 is filling in the preferences again for the rounds.

The students then fill in their preferences again for the official seat allotment rounds.

• Step 5 is the round of seat allotment.

The ACPDC gives out seats based on the merit list the category of the student and their preferences.

The students are told which college they have been allotted to by SMS and email.

• Step 6 is reporting to the college. Confirming the admission.

The students who have been allotted a seat have to go to the college pay the fees and confirm that they want to take the seat.

If they do not do this on time they might lose the seat.

• Step 7 is the rounds.

There are rounds of seat allotment after the first round.

Students who did not get a seat, in the round can try again in the later rounds.

The ACPDC also has a mop-up round to fill any seats that’re still empty.
