PPU UG Admission 2026-30 has been officially announced by Patliputra University, Patna for the academic session 2026-30. Students who have passed Class 12 (Intermediate) from a recognized board and wish to take admission in BA, BSc, BCom and other undergraduate programmes in Patliputra University’s affiliated colleges in Patna, Bihar can now prepare to apply online from 11 May 2026 through the university’s Samarth Portal.

This year, the entire PPU UG admission process has been made fully online and transparent through the Samarth Portal — eliminating college-level irregularities and ensuring merit-based seat allotment across all affiliated colleges. This is the first time PPU is using the Samarth Portal for UG admissions on this scale, making the process more systematic and student-friendly.

Important Note: PPU has not released the admission schedule yet. We are not really sure about the dates, except that the application starts on 11 May 2026. The other dates I mentioned are what we think they will be based on what happened year. Soon as PPU announces the official dates on their website ppup.ac.in we will update them here. Students need to check the PPU website all the time to get the information, about PPU admission.

PPU UG Admission 2026 – What is the Samarth Portal?

The Samarth Portal is a government approved system that helps with admissions. It was started by the Ministry of Education in 2019. Many universities in India use the Samarth Portal for admissions.

• The Samarth Portal is used by PPU for admission in 2026 for reasons.

• The main reasons are to make the admission process transparent and fair.

• The PPU wants to stop colleges from doing things that’re not fair when giving out seats.

• The PPU also wants to make it easy for students to apply to colleges at the same time.

• The PPU is also using the Samarth Portal to connect admissions with the Academic Bank of Credits.

This will make the admission process easy to do from any device. There will be no need for paper.

Some important things about PPU admission through the Samarth Portal are:

• Students only need to register for all PPU colleges.
• Students can see which seats are available, in time.
• Students can upload their documents online. Do not need to give them in person.
• The Samarth Portal will make a list of students based on their Class 12 marks.
• Students can pay their fees online using their bank account UPI, debit card or credit card.

PPU UG Admission 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

For BA (Bachelor of Arts):

I want to tell you about the BA course. To get in you need to have finished Class 12 from a school that is recognized by the state or the country.

You should have least 45 percent marks when you add up all your marks in Class 12.

If you are from a group like SC or ST or OBC or EWS you get a little relaxation. You need 40 percent marks.

It does not matter what subjects you had in school. You can still do BA.

There is no age limit to join this course.

For BSc (Bachelor of Science):

Now lets talk about the BSc course. For this you need to have finished Class 12 with Science subjects from a recognized school.

You need to have least 45 percent marks when you add up all your marks in Class 12 but if you are from a special group like SC or ST or OBC or EWS you need 40 percent marks.

You must have had Physics and Chemistry and one other subject like Mathematics or Biology or Computer Science or Biotechnology.

For BCom (Bachelor of Commerce):

For the BCom course you should have finished Class 12 from a recognized school. Its better if you had Commerce subjects.

You need to have least 45 percent marks when you add up all your marks in Class 12 but if you are from a special group like SC or ST or OBC or EWS you need 40 percent marks.

Note that if you had Arts or Science subjects, in school you can still apply for BCom in some colleges. But you need to check what each college says about this.

General Eligibility Points:

If you are giving your Class 12 exam in 2026 you can still apply for these courses. You need to get the marks we told you about.

When you get into a college you need to show them the papers that prove what you said is true.

You do not need to give any entrance exam to get into the BA or BSc or BCom courses.

PPU UG Admission 2026 – Application Fee

The fee is not something you can get back once you have paid it. You have to pay the fee using the Samarth Portal. You can use UPI or Net Banking or your Debit Card or Credit Card to make the payment. The Samarth Portal does not accept cash or Demand Draft. It is an idea to keep the payment receipt, for the fee because you might need it later for future reference.

PPU UG Admission 2026 – Course-Wise Fee Structure

Note: The fees I am talking about are the fees that the university says everyone has to pay at government-aided colleges that are affiliated with them.. If you are going to a self-financed college or a private college that is affiliated with PPU you will probably have to pay more. You should check with the college you want to go to and find out how much you will have to pay when you enroll. The college may also charge you extra for things like exams, sports and development and these fees are separate, from the fees.

PPU UG Admission 2026 – Reservation Policy

Patna University follows the rules made by the Bihar Government for giving seats to students who want to join undergraduate programs. The university does this to make sure that the admissions are fair for all the students who want to join the programs, at Patna University.

Horizontal Reservation: There is a 3% reservation of seats for Divyang candidates, who’re physically handicapped across all categories. Bihar also provides reservations for women, in state institutions.

The PPU UG Admission 2026 merit list process has three phases. It is really important for students to understand the PPU UG Admission 2026 merit list process to enroll on time.

Phase 1. The First Merit List:

The PPU UG Admission 2026 merit list is based on the students class 12 marks and the category the student belongs to.

Students whose names are on the PPU UG Admission 2026 first merit list must complete their enrollment and pay the fees within the given time which is usually three to five days.

If a student does not enroll within the given time the PPU UG Admission 2026 seat will be given to the student in Phase 2.

Phase 2. The Second Merit List:

Spot admission lets students directly enroll in the remaining seats at the college level or through a spot round.

This is the chance for students to get a seat. If seats are left after the spot admission they may be given to students who want to pursue courses.

Tip: Students should enroll soon as they see their name on the PPU UG Admission 2026 merit list. They should not wait until the day. The enrollment window is short three to five days and if they miss it their seat will be given to the next student, on the PPU UG Admission 2026 merit list.

How to Apply for PPU UG Admission 2026 Online

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you:

• Step 1: Visit the Official Website

Open your browser and go to Patliputra Universitys website. Ppup.ac.in.

• Step 2: Find the UG Admission Link

On the homepage look for the “UG Admission 2026” or “Samarth Portal” link. It will be live from 11 May 2026. You can also directly visit admission.ppuponline.in.

• Step 3: Register on Samarth Portal

Click on “New Registration” on the Samarth Portal page. Enter your details:

• Name (as in Class 12 marksheet)
• Date of Birth
• Mobile Number ( OTP will be sent)
• Email ID ( login credentials will be sent)
• Aadhaar Card Number
• Step 4: Verify OTP

Complete OTP verification on your number and email. Your User ID and Password will be generated. Save these carefully.

• Step 5: Fill Application Form

Login to the Samarth Portal using your credentials. Go to “Application Form”. Fill in:

• Personal details (name, DOB, gender, category, religion)

Upload scanned copies of required documents in the format.

• Step 7: Pay Application Fee

Pay the application fee online. ₹600 (General) or ₹450 (Reserved). Via UPI, Net Banking or Debit/Credit Card.

• Step 8: Review Application

Review the application form carefully. Check your name, marks, category and college preferences.

• Step 9: Final Submission

Click “Final Submit”. After submission the form cannot be edited.

• Step 10: Print Application Receipt

Download and print the Application Confirmation Slip / Receipt. Save it with your application number and payment receipt, for use (merit list check, enrollment, grievance).

PPU UG Admission 2026 – Documents Required

Keep these documents ready before starting the application:

ABC Account: Students are told to make an Academic Bank of Credits or ABC account on abc.gov.in. They should use their Aadhaar or DigiLocker details. This needs to be done before they finish their application on the Samarth Portal. Having an ABC Account is necessary to enroll in the NEP 2020 FYUGP.

About Patliputra University it is in Patna.

Patliputra University in Patna was started on 18 March 2018 by the Government of Bihar. They sent a memo about this on 09 April 2018.

The reason for starting Patliputra University was to help the colleges in Patna and nearby areas. These colleges were part of Magadh University before.
