What Is UPGET 2026?

UPGET stands for Uttar Pradesh GNM Entrance Test. It is conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow, for admission to the 3-Year GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) Course across Uttar Pradesh for the academic session 2026-27.

This exam covers two types of institutions:

1. All Government GNM Nursing Colleges/Schools in Uttar Pradesh, which include:

• KGMU College of Nursing, Lucknow
• School of Nursing, Balrampur Hospital, Lucknow
• LLR School of Nursing, Kanpur
• UHM School of Nursing, Kanpur
• SRNH GNMTC, Prayagraj
• GNMTC District Hospital, Gorakhpur
• School of Nursing SVBP District Hospital, Meerut
• School of Nursing District Hospital, Bareilly
• School of Nursing SN Medical College, Agra
• UPUMS, Saifai

2. All Private Institutions/Colleges (except Private Universities) affiliated with UP State Medical Faculty running GNM Programs.

Important: No direct admission is allowed in any of the above institutions without qualifying UPGET 2026. Every candidate — government college or private — must go through this centralized entrance test.

UPGET 2026 Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria – UP GNM admission 2026 eligibility

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 17 years on or before 31 December 2026
• There is no upper age limit mentioned in the official notification.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) with English from a recognized board. There are four valid routes:

Route 1: 10+2 with English, securing minimum 40% marks at the qualifying examination from any recognized board. Three core/elective subjects (excluding English) are considered for percentage calculation. Candidates from State Open Schools (recognized by State Government) and NIOS (recognized by Central Government) are also eligible. English must have at least pass marks.

Route 2: 10+2 with English and 40% marks in Vocational ANM Course from a school recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Route 3: 10+2 with English and 40% marks in Vocational Stream – Healthcare Science from a recognized CBSE board / State / Central board.

Route 4: Registered ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) with passing marks.

SC/ST Relaxation: 5% relaxation in the minimum percentage of marks is provided for SC/ST candidates. Effectively, SC/ST candidates need 35% marks in qualifying examination.

Medical Fitness

The candidate must be medically fit. For PwD candidates with locomotor disability between 40% to 50% of the lower extremity, the same educational qualification applies as for their category.

Domicile Requirement (For Government College Seats)

To be eligible for Government GNM Training Centers/Schools in UP, the candidate must be a domicile of Uttar Pradesh. This means either:

• Holding a valid Domicile Certificate of UP issued by a competent authority, OR
• Having passed both 10th and 12th board examinations from Uttar Pradesh.

Only Indian Citizens are eligible to apply.

Application Fee – UPGET 2026 GNM Nursing Entrance Test

Mode of Payment: Online only — Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI

The examination fee once submitted is non-refundable and non-transferable to any future examination. If multiple payments occur during fee submission, the refund will be credited back to the original payment source.

UPGET 2026 Reservation Policy

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has set the reservation policy for UPGET 2026. Seats are reserved based on the total number of available seats. The key provisions of this policy are explained below in simple and accessible language, so that you can get the complete information clearly:

PwD (Persons with Disabilities) Reservation

• 5% of seats are reserved for candidates with a locomotive disability of 40% to 50%.
• Candidates will be verified by an authorised medical board.
• This board must include a Nursing Expert.
• This board must be constituted by a government medical college.

In-Service ANM Candidates

• Seats are reserved for ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) candidates with 5 years of experience.
• The candidate must be in service with DGMH / NRHM / NHM (Uttar Pradesh) until 15th June 2026.
• This reservation is for 15% of the government seats (excluding the Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences).

Reservation for Male Candidates

10% of the government seats are reserved for male candidates (excluding UPUMS).

EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Quota

• As per the instructions of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, 10% reservation is for the EWS category.
• A valid EWS certificate is required for this.
• The certificate must be issued on or after 1st April 2026.

OBC Certificate

• For the OBC category, the certificate must also be issued on or after 1st April 2026.

Caste Certificate

• Only certificates issued by a Tehsildar or SDM (Uttar Pradesh Government) will be valid.
• This certificate must be verifiable online on the government portal.

NCC Benefits

• Only the NCC “C” Certificate (Grade B) will be recognised.
• This certificate must be issued by an NCC Battalion.
• No reservation benefits will be given for NCC “A” and “B” Certificates.
• Freedom Fighter Dependant (Freedom Fighter Dependent)
• A certificate issued by the District Magistrate (DM) is required for this.
• Ex-Servicemen
• The candidate must possess a valid Ex-Servicemen certificate issued by an authorised authority.

Exam Pattern – UPGET 2026

Section-wise Syllabus

Key Points on Syllabus:

• Section A (Science) is based on Class 10th level — covers Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• Section B (General Knowledge) is based on Class 12th level.
• Section C (English) is based on Class 12th level — covers grammar, comprehension, vocabulary.
• No separate syllabus booklet has been issued. Standard 10th-12th NCERT content is the safest preparation base.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Exam Centers – UPGET 2026

The entrance test will be conducted in the following 20 cities across Uttar Pradesh:

Candidates must give 3 city preferences in order of preference during application. The actual exam center city may change due to administrative reasons. The exact venue is mentioned on the admit card.

How to Apply for UPGET 2026 – B.Sc. Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing

All applications must be submitted UPGET 2026 application form abvmuup.edu.in online only at www.abvmuup.edu.in. No offline or postal applications are accepted.

Step 1 – New Registration

Visit https://www.abvmucet26.co.in/ and click on the UPGET 2026 link. Click “Register” and fill in:

• Full Name (as per Class 10th certificate)
• Father’s Name and Mother’s Name (as per Class 10th certificate)
• Date of Birth (as per Class 10th certificate)
• Gender
• Valid Email ID (for all future communications)
• Mobile Number and Alternate Mobile Number
• WhatsApp Number
• Category and Sub-Category

After filling details, click confirm. You will receive two separate OTPs on your email and mobile — both must be verified. On successful registration, your Unique Registration ID and a One-Time Login Password will be sent to your registered email and mobile.

The Registration ID is your permanent identity for this exam — keep it secure. Information submitted at registration (name, DOB, parents’ names) cannot be changed later.

Step 2 – Login and Fill Application Form

Login using your Registration ID and One-Time Password. You will be asked to change the default password immediately — this is mandatory. Without changing the password, you cannot proceed.

The application form has 5 stages:

Stage 1 – Personal Information: Pre-filled from registration data. Verify all details.

Stage 2 – Address: Fill residential address (State, City, District, Pin Code). If your correspondence address is different, update that separately.

Stage 3 – Educational Qualifications and Centre City Preference:

• Enter 10th and 12th marks, board name, year of passing.
• If your 12th result is awaited, select “Appearing.” You must update marks in the portal after results are out, before UPGET result declaration.
• Choose 3 exam city preferences in order of preference.

Stage 4 – Live Photo, Passport Photo, Signature and Verification Sheet:

Live Photo:

• Captured via webcam or mobile camera directly in the portal.
• Good lighting and plain white background required.
• No cap, mask, or spectacles.
• The system automatically detects eye blink to capture the photo.
• Failure to follow guidelines may result in application cancellation.

Passport Size Photo:

• Full face, front view, white background, no spectacles.
• Both ears must be visible.
• Write your name and date of photo (DD/MM/YY) below the photograph.
• Format: .jpg | Size: 50KB to 200KB | Dimensions: 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm

Signature:

• Running handwriting only — CAPITAL LETTERS not accepted.
• Black ballpoint pen on white paper without lines.
• Format: .jpg | Size: 50KB to 200KB
• No overwriting in signature.

Verification Sheet:

• Download the Verification Sheet proforma from the UPGET 2026 applicant dashboard.
• Fill it in your own handwriting with a blue ballpoint pen and upload a scanned copy.
• Complete this before starting the online form for convenience.

Stage 5 – Form Preview: Review all details carefully. Check the declaration box confirming that all information is true and correct. Then click “Save & Pay Fee”.

Step 3 – Fee Payment

Click “Pay Fee for GNM” to be redirected to the Online Payment Gateway. Pay via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

• If payment fails, wait for a failed payment confirmation before trying again. If no message received, wait 30 minutes before retrying.
• If multiple payments occur, the latest successful payment will be considered and all others refunded to the source.

Step 4 – Final Submission

After successful payment, the application form is automatically submitted. You will see the message: “Your application form has been successfully submitted.” Download and save the confirmation.

If you do not see this confirmation message, your form is NOT submitted. Do not assume submission based on fee deduction alone.

Admit Card – UPGET 2026

• Admit card will be available for download from 9 June 2026 (Tentative) on www.abvmuup.edu.in using your Registration ID and password.
• Print the admit card in colour — digital format on mobile is NOT accepted at the exam center.
• No admit card will be sent by post.
• Duplicate admit card will NOT be issued at the examination center under any circumstance.
• Your photograph and video will be captured along with the admit card at the exam center for identity verification.
• Carrying the admit card does not guarantee eligibility — documents are checked separately.

Result, Merit List and Counselling

The result of UPGET 2026 will be announced on the official website www.abvmuup.edu.in. The exact date of result will be published on the website after the examination.

Merit List

A combined merit list and category-wise merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the entrance test.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates score equal marks, the inter-se-merit (ranking) is decided in this exact order:

1. Higher marks in Science in the entrance test
2. If still tied → higher marks in English in the entrance test
3. If still tied → higher marks in General Knowledge in the entrance test
4. If still tied → Higher Age (older candidate ranks higher)
5. If still tied → Higher percentage in Class 10th (High School) — further broken by Hindi/other language and English marks individually.

Counselling

Counselling details will be published on www.abvmuup.edu.in after result declaration. College allotment is done strictly based on merit rank through counselling — no direct admission is permitted.

Admission

• Candidates allotted a college must deposit the prescribed fee by the notified date.
• Failure to pay the fee on time results in forfeiture of the seat.
• Candidates must join the course within the specified period.
