Mumbai University First Merit List 2026 is out — released today, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM. The University of Mumbai (MU) has released the first allotment list for undergraduate admissions 2026-27 at the official Samarth portal muugadmission.samarth.edu.in. Seats have been allotted for BA, BCom, BSc, BMS, BBI, BFM, BMM, BAF and other UG programmes across 749 affiliated colleges and 60 university departments.

If your name appears in the first merit list — you have only 3 days to complete document verification (May 27–29) and pay the seat acceptance fee by May 29, 2026 at 3:00 PM. Missing this deadline means losing your allotted seat.

Students not allotted in the first list — do not worry. The second merit list releases on May 30 and the third on June 4. Keep checking the portal.

Method 1: Via Student Login

You can check the MU First Merit List 2026 through the student login portal on muugadmission.samarth.edu.in.

• Go to muugadmission.samarth.edu.in. Or muugadmission.samarth.edu.in merit list 2026

• On the homepage click on the “UG First Merit List / Allotment Status 2026″ notification banner.
• Enter your Registration Login ID, Password and Captcha.
• Click Submit. Your candidate dashboard will open.
• Check your college, stream and course preference.
• If you are allotted proceed to document verification

Method 2: Via College Mumbai University UG allotment 2026 Website

Alternatively you can check the MU First Merit List 2026 through the college website.

• Visit the website https://www.mu.ac.in/ of the college you applied to.

• Look for “First Merit List 2026” or “UG Admission Merit List 2026” on the homepage.
• Download the PDF. Search for your Application Number or Name.
• Note your allotment status and report to the college.

When logging in use the Registration ID and Password you created during the MU UG admission application process. If you forgot your password use the “Forgot Password” option, on the login page.

Mumbai University document verification 2026 (May 27–29)

You need to get your documents verified from May 27 to May 29 2026. This has to be done and you need to finish it by 3:00 PM on May 29 2026.

• You will need some documents for this.

Here are the documents you need to keep ready:

• Academic documents.

• These include your Class 10 Marksheet and Certificate and your Class 12 Marksheet and Certificate.
• You also need your School Leaving Certificate or College Leaving Certificate.

• Identity and Category documents.

• These include your Aadhaar Card or your PAN Card or your Driving Licence or your Voter ID or any other Government Photo ID.
• You also need a Caste Certificate if it applies to you.
• This can be for SC or ST or OBC or VJNT or SBC or EWS.
• If you are an OBC candidate you need a -Creamy Layer Certificate.
• If you live in Maharashtra you need a Domicile Certificate.
• If you have a disability you need a Disability Certificate.

• Other documents.

• You need some passport size photos that were taken recently.
• If you took a gap year after Class 12 you need a Gap Certificate.
• If you are from a board than the Maharashtra State Board you need a Migration Certificate.
• Remember to keep your documents ready, for verification of documents.
• The verification of documents has to be done between May 27 and May 29 2026.

If your name is in the Mumbai University First Merit List 2026

• Log in at muugadmission.samarth.edu.in away
• Finish document verification by May 29 3:00 PM
• Pay the seat acceptance fee by May 29 3:00 PM
• After you pay your seat is confirmed for that college and course
• Go to your college on the date they announce for physical document verification

If your name is not, in the First Merit List

• Don’t worry. Second Merit List comes out on May 30 at 7:00 PM
• Seats become available when allotted students don’t confirm or upgrade
