CCF vs CBCS vs Annual. Which Scheme Is Your Result Under?

The University of Calcutta uses three systems for results. This confuses students.

Here are the three systems:

  • CCF 2022 (Curriculum and Credit Framework 2022):

This is a scheme that started in the 2022–23 admission batch. It follows the NEP 2020 guidelines.

If you joined in 2022–23 or later your results are under CCF.

Under CCF you take a Four-Year UG programme or a Three-Year programme with exit.

Your results under CCF will say “Four/Three Year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Semester-V Examination, 2025 (Under CCF 2022)” on the result portal.

Go to “College Portal (CCF)” on cuexam.net to check.

  • CBCS (Choice Based Credit System):

This is a semester-based system.

If you joined between 2017 and 2021 your results are under CBCS.

If you joined before 2022 you are also under CBCS.

Results under CBCS say “B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Semester-V (Honours/General/Major) Examinations, 2025 (Under CBCS)” on the portal.

Check “College Portal (CBCS)” on cuexam.net.

  • Annual System (Part I / Part II / Part III):

This older system is for some PG, professional and distance education students.

Under this system exams happen a year, not every semester.

Results appear as “Part I,” “Part II ” or “Part III”, on the portal.

Quick Reference — Which Scheme Am I Under?

Admission YearScheme
2022–23 onwardsCCF 2022 (Four/Three Year Programme)
2017–18 to 2021–22CBCS
Before 2017 or professional coursesAnnual / Part system

Check your Admit Card — the scheme name is printed on it. If unsure, ask your college examination coordinator.

How to Check Calcutta University Result 2026 12-Digit Roll Number cuexam.net cuexamwindow.in

Why Do We Need To Write The 12-Digit Roll Number Without A Hyphen

Every student at Calcutta University has a roll number that is printed with a hyphen in the middle. For example it looks like this: 1234-56-7890.. When we want to check our results on the websites cuexam.net and cuexamwindow.in we have to enter the roll number without the hyphen. So we have to write it like this: 123456789012 together as one 12-digit number.

The hyphen is for making the roll number look nice when it is printed. It is not actually part of the roll number in the computer. If we enter the hyphen when we are logging in we get an error message that says “Invalid Roll Number”. So we should always remember to remove the hyphen and write all 12 digits together.

Method 1: Checking Results On cuexam.net

Step 1: Open a web browser. Go to the website www.cuexam.net.

Step 2: On the page we will see two options:

How to Check Calcutta University Result 2026 12-Digit Roll Number cuexam.net cuexamwindow.in
  • College Portal for students who are under the CCF 2022 system
  • College Portal for students who are under the CBCS system
  • We need to click on the option that matches our system.

Step 3: Next we have to select our course from a list. This could be something like BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc, MCom or LLB.

Step 4: Then we have to select which semester we are in. For example we might be in Semester V.

Step 5: After that a new page will. We will see a link to our results. We need to click on this link, which might say something like “B.A./B.Sc. Semester-V Examinations, 2025”.

Step 6: Now we have to enter our 12-digit roll number without the hyphen, in the login field.

Step 7: We click the “Submit” or “Get Result” button.

Step 8: Our result will appear on the screen showing our marks for each subject our grades, the total, our SGPA or CGPA and whether we passed or failed.

Step 9: Finally we can click the “Download” button. Use our browsers print function to save our result as a PDF file.

Method 2 is to use the website cuexamwindow.in when cuexam.net’s really slow.

Step 1: Go to the website www.cuexamwindow.in.

Step 2: Just follow the steps as Method 1 because the cuexamwindow.in website looks exactly like cuexam.net.

Method 3 is to search by name on the website indiaresults.com.

  • Step 1: Go to the website west-bengal.indiaresults.com/caluniv/mindex.aspx.
  • Step 2: Find the link for your exam like “University of Calcutta B.A./B.Sc. Semester-V 2025”.
  • Step 3: On the page with your results look for the option that says “Search by Name”.
  • Step 4: Type in your name the same one you used when you registered with the university.

The website will show you a list of names that match yours so find your name and click on it to see your result.

This method is really useful when you lost your admit card and cannot remember your roll number, from the University of Calcutta exam so you can still find your result on cuexamwindow.in or indiaresults.com.

CU Result 2026 Gazette vs Grade Card vs Marksheet. What Is the Difference?

I think this is something that no one else talks about and it causes a lot of confusion among CU students.

The online result that you can download from cuexam.net or cuexamwindow.in soon as it is declared is called the Online Result. This is like a result. It is useful if you want to see your result right away but it is not good enough for all official things.

The College-wise Gazette is like a book that Calcutta University gives to all the colleges that are connected to it. This book has the results of all the students in that college in a table. The university gives this book to the colleges on a date. For example the results for Semester V were declared on 1 April 2026 and the gazette was given to the colleges on 8 April 2026.

The Grade Card, which is also called the Original Marksheet is like a card that the university makes for each student. This card is very important because you need it to get into education to apply for jobs to get a passport and for all other official things. The university prints these cards. Sends them to the colleges after they send the gazette. This usually happens 2 to 6 weeks after the online result is declared. You can get your grade card from the examination department of your college.

Summary: The online result is like a result that you can see right away. The College Gazette is like a list that the colleges get. For Semester V it was given to the colleges on 8 April. The Individual Grade Card is, like the official document that you need. You can collect it from your college 2 to 6 weeks later.

University of Calcutta Result 2026 Revaluation Scrutiny Upcoming Semester Dates. Complete Process

If you are not happy with the marks you got in any subject the University of Calcutta gives you two options: Scrutiny and Re-evaluation.

Scrutiny

The University of Calcutta Scrutiny checks for mistakes in marking missed answers and mistakes in adding up the marks. It does not mean they will read your answers again.

How to Apply for University of Calcutta Scrutiny:

You need to look for the University of Calcutta scrutiny notice on caluniv.ac.in. It usually comes out ten to fifteen days after the results are out. You have to give your application through your college. You also have to pay a fee for each subject. Check the notice to see how much the fee is now. The University of Calcutta scrutiny result usually comes out thirty to forty five days later.

Re-evaluation

The University of Calcutta Re-evaluation means a senior examiner will read your answer script again and give you marks. Your marks can go up stay the same or go down. The fee for University of Calcutta Re-evaluation is more than for scrutiny.

Important Deadline: You have to give in your applications for University of Calcutta scrutiny and re-evaluation within the time the university says. Fifteen to twenty days after the results are out. If you miss this time you cannot do anything, about that exam.
