UPESSC vs UPHESC vs UPPSC. What Is the Difference? (Most Candidates Get Confused)

Many people who want to be Assistant Professors in Uttar Pradesh get confused about UPESSC and UPHESC and UPPSC. Let me tell you the difference between them.

UPESSC, which is the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission is a body that replaced UPESSCs old version, which is UPHESC. Now UPESSC handles all the recruitment for Assistant Professors in aided degree colleges. For example UPESSC is in charge of the B.Ed recruitment, which’s Advertisement No 51. You can find all the information you need on the UPESSC website, which’s upessc.up.gov.in.

UPHESC, which is the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Services Commission used to be in charge of hiring Assistant Professors for Government Degree Colleges.. Now UPHESC is not used anymore because UPESSC replaced it. If you go to the UPHESC website, which is uphesc.org you can still see old exam data and links to admit cards for the 2022 exams.

Then there is UPPSC, which’s the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. UPPSC is completely different from UPESSC and UPHESC. UPPSC hires people to be Assistant Professors in Government Degree Colleges not in aided colleges. For instance UPPSC announced that it is hiring Assistant Professors for 1,253 jobs in 28 subjects. You can find all the information about UPPSC, on its website, which’s uppsc.up.nic.in.

So the simple rule is this: if you want to teach in an aided degree college you should apply through UPESSC. If you want to teach in a government degree college you should look at UPPSC. Remember, UPESSC and UPPSC are completely separate so you have to apply to them.

The UPESSC application process is pretty simple. It has two main parts. The OTR Registration and the main Application Form. A lot of people make the mistake of skipping the OTR Registration and going to the Application Form but this can cause problems.

So here is the complete and correct process:

Part 1 is the OTR Registration.

The OTR Registration is something you do once where you create a profile on the UPESSC website. If you have already done the OTR Registration for an UPESSC application you do not need to do it again.

Here is what you need to do:

  • Step 1: Go to the UPESSC website, which’s bed.upessc.org/otr/ or upessc.up.gov.in.
  • Step 2: Click on “New Registration / OTR” if this is your time applying to UPESSC.
  • Step 3: Enter your name, date of birth, gender, mobile number and email address to create your OTR profile.
  • Step 4: You will get a registration number and password on your phone and email. Make sure to save these because you will need them for the rest of the process.

Then there is Part 2 which is filling the Application Form.

  • Step 5: Log in using your OTR registration number and password.
  • Step 6: Find the “Advertisement No. 51 (Amended) – Assistant Professor B.Ed.”. Click on it.
  • Step 7: Fill in the details of your education like the subject you studied the name of your university the year you passed your percentage and your roll number. Do not make any mistakes here.
  • Step 8: Enter the details of your NET/SLET/SET qualification or your Ph.D. Details if they apply to you.
  • Step 10: Pay the application fee online.
  • Step 11: Check all your entries carefully before you submit the form. Once you submit it you may not be able to make any changes.
  • Step 12: Download and print the confirmation page, which has your Application Number, on it. Keep this safe because you will need it later.

Specifically if you did not have a B.Ed. Degree, at that time but you have it now. You need to send in a new application and pay the full fee for the Re-Applicants.
